Several blow downs about 1/3 mile from start. 1 has been limbed. One crawl under a little further up. |

Warmer than expected early. Trail was solid with some sticky snow, especially on way down. Most everyone out was in just spikes. No real issues until just before the trail flattened out. Trees encased in snow/ice. Snow bombs & water dripping made for a wet few moments. Nice views from the Outlook. Franconia Ridge in the clouds. Quick thru the scrub to top. Stairs to tower encased in ice. Slushy mess on observation deck. Not as windy as I expected. Really quick down with many heading up. Several to celebrate a Grid Finish! Congrats! |
