Comments
Comments: The sidewalk held firm for most of the day. A few post holes were seen here and there, but nothing overly problematic... many along the sides of the trail though, so stay in the center and be careful when stepping aside. We only changed from spikes to snowshoes for the last mile to the car as the snow became slushier in the afternoon around 2PM (should have brought gravy for those mashed potatoes...). We would have been OK without them, but we ran into some shallow postholes, so we put them on to be on the safe side. The entire Sosman trail is broken out from the summit loop to Waterville Valley, but was less stable than Mt. Tecumseh trail. Great day for a hike!
