Comments
Comments: From vehicle, walked 0.1 mile to Washburn Rd and then 0.1 mile down Washburn Rd to unused snomo trail which we took. There are still signs identifying the snomo trail at the edge of the road. At first 2 jcts we turned left heading towards Braley. At about 1950' we hit a Posted sign. The Posted signs were all coming up from a lower elevation but stopped at the snomo trail. We did not continue on the snomo trail. We decided to bw S for a while and then turned E to meet the snomo trail at a higher elevation. Followed snomo trails to Tinkham's clear cut summit.

On the summit's SE corner we noticed a rogue snomo track going SE. We followed this track as it snaked through the woods on a narrow trail, ending at the ledges at the end of this SE ridge. Here we evaluated the conditions to Forbes and noticed that it was wide open hardwoods up to just below the cone of Forbes. We walked N, skirting the top of the ledges and then took every moderate slope that would take us down through the ledges. From the bottom of the steeps we beelined for Forbes in wide open hardwoods, encountering several rogue snomo tracks. At the base of Forbes we followed a snomo track N a short bit and then SE at it made its way directly up the Forbes steeps to the open summit. Stunning views is almost all directions. Followed our tracks back.
The entire area that we hiked today showed signs of a major snomo trail network that is no longer being used except by rogue snomos.

Breaking effort on entire hike - none, on crunchy boilerplate
Grades - mostly easy, some moderate, very little steep
Tree density - wide open hardwoods
