Comments
Comments: Starting about 1 mile in, the trail is an absolute postholed mess. Some pics in the link below that don't do justice...can't imagine it was much fun when 9 out of every 10 steps (long stretches where it was 10/10) they sunk anywhere from their shin to their crotch. What is there now is set like concrete...very grippy with Hillsounds, so as long as you don't slip into a hole it is manageable, and the postholes actually made steps on the very steep parts, so not all bad! In a few places there was drifted snow over the holes, so had to be careful not to find a hidden hole. A previous report referenced people postholing with snowshoes, but I didn't see any of those holes. Not sure how much snow is coming tonight, but I'd say snowshoes will be your best bet if there is just enough to cover over the holes.
