Lost and Found
Lost and Found: one ice axe was left on the steep section by the two guys in front of me. Since they were butt sliding and I was not, I could not catch them. Email me if you want it back, that should not be a problem

Comments
Comments: Trails are in great shape and most of the postholes have been filled. There was about 4-6 inches of powder on the trail this morning and snowshoes were the best choice all the way back to the steep section for the descent. This is where I switch to crampons. I don't think butt sliding the steep section of East Osceola is safe and I prefer to go slow with crampons (actually, I used K10, not my full crampons because the hard pack beneath is very grippy). I switched back to snowshoes at the junction with Greeley pond trail. About 2/3 of people were in snowshoes and the rest in spike. The ridge had deep drifts so snowshoes were really the best there. I used the bypass to the bypass this time, that seemed the safe choice and Copper went that way before I could tell him otherwise. There was no tracks toward the bypass or the chimney itself. Great day in the mountains today.
