Comments
Comments: Microspiked the heavily-travelled Mt Morgan Trail. Half of the group opted for the ladders/slot, a very tight squeeze for this big boy. Low-sloped, icy approach to the "cave" opening, with difficulty gaining a foot purchase in microspikes. A looped (for foot) rope, secured past the opening, would facillitate easier passage. CRT (snowshoes the rest of the way) was unbroken until Webster, where old, crusted trail prints from S stopped. Trail from Livermore to parking was posthole city, as noted by Rocketman (Th), and many in our group side-stepped the "broken" trail at every opportunity. A grand day out with clouds predominating, fortuitous sun @ the lookouts, and a near-whiteout squall mid-hike.
