Comments
Comments: The trail was in very good shape, much of what was posted yesterday by hiker dad is still accurate. We wore k10s for most of the day. Microspikes were sufficient to the start of the BP bushwack then snowshoes to Brutus. Going up Brutus we used our K10s, but snowshoes would work just as well. There was increased snow drifting where Brutus meets back with the trail. The summit was very drifted as of 9am. There were several groups coming behind us, so hopefully it looks better than how we left it. We lost the trail a few times but did our best to break it out correctly. Very cold with the wind and snow at the summit so we didn’t stay long. We wore the k10s back to the car. There are a little to no post holes on the trail except past Brutus, which definitely had several frozen post holes that we found and narrowly avoided a face plant.
Celebrate Presidents’ Day with a visit to OH. We saw only 6 others headed to OH but tons on LW with snowshoes and xc skis.
