I saw a recent report online that Beaver Brook Trail was in good shape, so I took advantage of the good conditions and went up. Traction was great in microspikes and then snowshoes higher up, no exposed ice or rocks except nearing the summit. Summiting was difficult with the combination of high wind and icy path, but it’s only for a few hundred feet. Coming down the steep mile by the falls I went slowly, but it was obvious many others butt-slid most of the way. |
