Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There are three leaners obstructing Old Bridal Path just below the view ledges. There are well formed her paths around them. There are a few snowed under step overs on Falling Waters; at this point, they are barely visible. All trail signs are intact. The new junction sign at the Lafayette Summit looks fantastic! Many more of the sticks with strings are in place than I would expect with all the wind that we have had.

Comments
Comments: I hiked the loop for sunrise; up FW and down OBP. It was cold enough to need a balaclava and a ski mask for the ridge. All the trails are really well packed, and there are less post holes than I have seen on other well traveled trails. Light traction all day; however, I did consider changing into my Spider-Man shoes (full crampons) for the descent from Lafayette. I hate that first .1 miles. Full crampons would’ve been appropriate for this; I did fine by going slowly in my new Hillsounds. There are signs of butt sledding on Agony Ridge, as well as some parts of FW; this makes those spots a bit icy. Other than that, it’s packed snow. If you are hiking this when the temperatures are warm, I would recommend toting along your snowshoes as there’s an impressive amount of snow for such a light snow year and that’s going to be very mushy in the sun!
Only a few of us were nutty enough to enjoy sunrise today; lots more people were out at the normal times.
