Comments
Comments: GPT and Mount Osceola Trail to East Peak are packed down well. There are a couple icy spots from butt sliding on steep sections approaching East and some postholes on GPT. I wore spikes for the first couple miles then switched to snowshoes for the televators. Saw about 5 other people today all in spikes. Snow is a little less packed down in places between East Peak and Mt. Osceola but can still get away with spikes if you choose to. Last 0.7 mi to East is steep as is area around Chimney going to Mt. Osceola. Bypass around the bypass was the only trail broken out in this section. Plenty of trees to grab on to in steep sections if needed. Beautiful warm day in the mountains!
