Comments
Comments: Snowshoes got a free ride for the entire 12 mile hike. Every trail I took today was hard packed and easily done with light traction. That said, given the considerably milder weather forecast for next week, the sidewalk-like trail conditions of today might not last too much longer, and snowshoes might be the way to go at some point.

I saw a decent amount of hikers today, most of whom were doing Pierce by itself. Only saw about a handful of other hikers who did or were doing Eisenhower. From Mizpah Hut to the summit of Mount Jackson, I had the trail to myself, and I only saw two other hikers on the hike down from Jackson to route 302.

Windy and frigid as it was, it was a winner of a day on the southern Presis- between the clear sky, far-reaching views, hard-packed trails, and the white, canopy-like forest above 3,000 feet or so, it often doesn't get much better than this on the 4Ks this time of year.
