| Comments: |
Beautiful day above treeline! Wind and temps were not as cold as anticipated on this blue bird day! Gale River trail up to the hut was well packed, used snowshoes once I reached the steeper sections. Garfield Ridge trail heading over to Garfield was packed ou (I didn’t take this trail but saw at the Gale River intersection). Snowshoes were helpful up to South twin and there was a fair amount of drifting on the trail over to North Twin where snowshoes were the right traction choice. Overall trail conditions were well packed and solid for most of the hike, this could change a lot in the upcoming days with the warm temps though. |
