Was kind of hoping this trail would be mostly snow free (because surrounding woods have very little snow/ice) but it was actually mostly frozen footprints with a tiny glaze of actual snow for grip. I really should have used some light traction but decided to wing it - stretches of ice were quite tedious. When I finally got to east end at road junction, I decided to just jog the road (Route 3) back to my car. Road had *some* sidewalk but then didn't - luckily the road is pretty wide and has a good shoulder. I think it was about a mile back to car - seemed all uphill - hahaha. I believe this is on the Rail Trail challenge list. |
