The major crossing of Downes Brook was solid, though showing a couple of weak spots that warm weather and/or rain may open up a bit. |

| Comments: |
Although the frequently noted postholes remain all along the trail, they were easy to avoid. Microspikes were the way to go, though we carried snowshoes. Those sections of the trail on open ledges exposed to sun were beginning to get slippery after noon, the rest of the trail remained perfect for spikes, with no balling underfoot, and solid traction.
