I tried to start out with snowshoes but very quickly the trail melted out to dirt/leaves/rocks. I then carried the snowshoes the rest of the way, thinking eventually I'd be putting them on. Well, about a half mile from summit the snow got deeper but wasn't wide enough for snowshoes so I just followed in earlier tracks and snow/ice was pretty supportive without any traction. I don't think I'd been up this trail before but it was super pleasant - got a chance to layer down in the warm sunshine!!!! Firetower cab was locked but views were good just below cab. Bluebird day!!! Fun hike after fun morning at King Pine Resort!!!! |
