Comments
Comments: Dreary, foggy weather today, but not much in way of rain. Apart from a few ledgy areas up high, full snowpack remains.

Trail was fairly firm up to the second viewpoint this afternoon. Above there, a few bare spots in the usual places, as well as areas of unstable snowpack and random growing postholes (the gift that keeps giving). Summit loop had full snowpack, but still not great due to those antique postholes. I avoided the side trails because the snow that's seen little to no traffic was very soft; didn't want to leave a mess for future hikers.

I wore light snowshoes roundtrip without issue. Spikes may be adequate up to the first or second viewpoint in the cooler temperatures tomorrow.

Foggy afternoon with temperatures dropping from the 50s to 40s fairly quickly.
