Comments
Comments: Parked at the Cotton Mountain trailhead and road walked to the Old Highway trail. Took Old Highway (easy, wide) to the junction with the Old Mountain Road trail then back to the Prescott trail to go up to the summit of Mt Livermore. There were many patches of bare ground on Prescott mixed in with hard, frozen snow. The summit of Mt Livermore provided terrific views of Squam Lake - well worth the effort. I did an out-and-back from the summit down to the junction with Old Mountain Road on the Crawford-Ridgepole trail, then over to the so-so summit of Cotton Mountain. It was down on the Cotton Mountain trail to complete the counterclockwise loop. The snowshoes got a free ride as the snow was perfect for crampons. Hit many patches of bare ground on every trail.
