Comments
Comments: If you are heading into the range soon, do not wear your dressy traction devices; they will get banged up. Today was a mix of a LOT of ice, hard snow, rock, and bare ground. I wore my old spikes round-trip and they aren't speaking to me right now. I chatted with one person who came up Mt. Major Trail and said it was extremely icy. I purposely avoided that trail because I know it can be sketchy without good snow cover. I also heard from others that two people took a fall today on that same trail.

The rest of this loop was fairly benign and south-facing slopes had a lot of bare ground. The snowmobile routes had been packed sown solid where there was snow.

Congratulations to Nicole and Samantha for completing their Belknap Range grid fastest known time today! Thanks for the invite and I'm glad I could be there for a small part of it. Also good to see Jay and Mike again out there.
