I was the second car at the Kilburn trailhead at 9:30. When I returned at 1:30 it had overflowed. |

I counted 17 blowdowns on Kilburn Loop (most of them small), not including the easy stepovers, of which there were many. John Summers Trail had one blowdown. |

I, for one, welcome the return of bare ground hiking to southern New Hampshire!
Aside from a few scattered patches of ice that were disappearing fast, this entire loop was down to leaves and dirt. There were a fair share of puddles and some mud but not too much. The eastern portion of Kilburn Loop clearly sees less traffic than the easier-to-access western portion. It's more wild and is a footpath for much of its distance as opposed to wide roads.
Lots of folks out today enjoying the spring-like weather. I really liked not having any winter gear with me. |
