Mud season conditions on Baker Road--the ruts aren't deep yet, but it will only get worse if the warm weather holds. |

One ~6" softwood obstructing the lower part of the trail (walk around) |

Still a lot of snow on the mountain, thin at the lower third, pretty robust on the upper third, depth variable. Trail is mostly crusty snow monorail & icy patches with short areas of bare ground and mud near the bottom of the trail. Rocks at the very top were mostly bare. Snow was firm enough to hold weight on trail only. Melting at a depressing rate. :-( Spikes were the right tool. |
