Trail was pretty much a smooth highway all the way from the start and thru both bushwhack sections (EH and ISO express). We started off in spikes and switched to snowshoes at the start of the EH bushwhack. It was smooth going overall , but with the warmer temps, the surface was not solid and we postholes quite significantly even with snowshoes on. In some spots the snow felt like quick sand, just sucking you down, especially on the way back. Water crossings were still OK, the snow bridge on the ISOexpress looked weak on the the way back and will probably collapse soon, unless it gets colder again soon. All in all, it was a really enjoyable day, easy out and back with barely any wind and (almost) nothing but blue skies and warm temps at the summit. |
