| Comments: |
Road walk was patchy with ice and bare road. First mile of trail was mix of bare ground and ice patches, I wore my rock spikes. After that initial section, the trail mostly turned to mashed potatoes and conditions were variable. I put my snowshoes on about 2.5 miles in for more stability. At higher elevations the snowpack was more stable and firm so I saw many people in spikes. Snowshoes are probably the best choice for this trail right now with the level of melting that occurred over the past couple days. |
