Ready for spring, winter and fall in one? Hike Waumbek!
Barefooted the first mile or so while alternating between cracking ice, wet leaves and a constant stream of water. Threw on the spikes at the one mile mark and kept them on until the summit. Did post hole a bit in the last quarter mile or so. Wore snowshoes down from the summit to try and smooth trail before switching back to spikes with 1.5 miles to go.
Overall it’s a wet, icy and snowy hike that requires most of your winter gear. With rain and warm weather it’s going to co time to get mushier this week so be prepared. |
