Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I began driving down Fundy Rd but the mud on the road quickly became sketchy. I got out to try walking on it and see just how soft it was and decided to cautiously proceed a bit further. My car managed but it was definitely a bit of a struggle and continued, so I eventually decided to turn around and park at the start of the road. Unclear if it's okay to park here or not. Signs litter Fundy Rd saying not to park alongside road or between signs but no signs at the start of the road where we all parked. There were maybe 3 others when I returned around 9:45am and no one seemed to mind that we were there; my guess is that the signs are to regulate when the boat launch parking overflows in summer. I'll note that there were many tire tracks on Fundy Rd and there was a Chevy Avalanche in the boat launch parking around 9:30am but I definitely wouldn't attempt it without at least AWD and even with it I'd say you're taking a bit of a risk. Plenty of parking at the boat launch.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Many are bridged but those that were not were easily rock hoppable.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Just south of the bridge at the northern end of Fundy, there's a branch draped over the trail, though I'm not sure it's actually detached from the tree. Some insignificant old stepovers in addition to a tree that came down whose branches block and obscure the footpath on Shaw Trail. You can go around it but there's no real herd path yet. A leaner or two that you may need to duck under as well. Similar on Split Rock Trail: at least a few stepovers, nothing all that cumbersome but a few of which probably should be taken care of, and a couple of widow makers/leaners/duck unders, that were mostly insignificant.

Comments
Comments: White blazes (Woronoco) or diamonds (Split Rock, Fundy, and Shaw) mark the trails though there's some mixing between the two. I don't recall exactly how frequently the trails were marked but it seemed sufficient and I did not find the trails difficult to follow.

There's a bridge over Round Pond Brook on Fundy Trail immediately south of where it meets Shaw Trail but there's water flowing over the trail just south of the bridge too. It seems that perhaps due to high water and beaver work, this section of trail is now going to be subject to flooding.

A nice early morning hike before a work meeting to do some more SNH redlining in Pawtuckaway. I hiked down Fundy Rd, which added 1mi round-trip to the hike, then hiked Fundy Trail, Shaw Trail, Split Rock Trail, Woronoco Trail, then Fundy Trail and road back to my car in a counterclockwise loop. I did the short 0.2mi OW OAB on Fundy Trail to park entrance road as well. One could argue that the 125yd abandoned section of Shaw Trail is needed for redlining as its described with a distance in the guidebook but I could not find it despite retracing my steps. Can anyone provide input here? The 10yd spur on Fundy Trail is obvious. It had rained the night before so the trail conditions were mostly wet. The sun seemed to be burning through for a bit and there was some hope for a sunny and clear day but it clouded up quickly. Plenty of mud and puddles to negotiate too. In particular, it seems that Fundy Trail just south of the bridge over Round Pond Brook is quickly flooding and a new water crossing is beginning to form. I imagine its much worse after today's rain too! Between the road walk and the walking to and fro to try and find the abandoned section of trail, Gaia had me at more than 2mi over my mapped route: 8.35mi, 350ft of gain, almost 3hrs.
