Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All of the actual stream crossings are done on snowmobile bridges on this route.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: No blazes on this route but the termini and key turns have signs within the Pisgah State Park boundary. Outside the boundary there are no markings. No significant blowdowns. Looks like a short section was relocated closer to the reservoir to avoid a wet area.
Dog-Related Notes

Bugs
Bugs: Not today but I imagine parts of this route are pretty tick-ey in summer.

Comments
Comments: Out-and-back along Hinsdale Trail (AKA Hinsdale Snowmobile Trail) from NH 63 to Reservoir Rd. inside Pisgah State Park, plus a side trip to the southwest cove of Pisgah Reservoir, which is a really lovely spot.

The lower part of this route outside the park has a couple of unmarked turns that could easily be missed in both directions. The entire route is used as a snowmobile corridor and is not the greatest for hiking, but does improve somewhat once inside the park. Needless to say after yesterday's rain, it was about three miles (one-way) of copious mud and running/standing water. Waterproof boots highly recommended!

For those hiking all the trails in the SNHTG, I think I am going to cut the description for this trail back to the park boundary for the upcoming 6th edition. This shortens the overall mileage and avoids the lousy snowmobile trail footing below the boundary, but also creates a somewhat long out-and-back from Reservoir Rd. ¯\_(?)_/¯ You're welcome? ;)
