We saw 9 hikers today. The two of us wore snowshoes all day. In the morning it was firm enough to bareboot (a hiker who started around the same time barebooted to the summit and donned snowshoes for the descent). On our way out, we encountered some hikers in spikes (carrying snowshoes) and some in snowshoes. It was softening up considerably in the afternoon, so snowshoes on the descent would have been the better choice. All of this will be moot after the rain tonight. Overall, the trail was in good shape. |
