| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I appeared to be the only one all day at the designated trailhead for Pisgah State Park on NH 119 in Winchester. Note that the vehicle roads into the park are now gated for mud season and will reopen on May 23. Foot traffic into the park is still ok. |

| Comments: |
Another 11 miles at Pisgah State Park today, using some of the route I used two days ago.
Most of this route was mainly damp in the morning from last night's showers but was drying out quickly from the sun and rising temps, which went up 30 degrees during the hike. Both Parker Trail and Chestnut Hill Trail had more mud and water. Parker was also rutted in places from prior ATV traffic.
At the height-of-land on Chestnut Hill Trail I bushwhacked up to the wooded summit of Chestnut Hill which is only about 0.15 mi. away. Super easy and open woods all the way. There was a bit of a view through the trees today but that will be non-existent with the leaves out. No register.
This completes the southern part of the park in regards to SNHTG updates. Still a few things to do in the northern section and then it will be done! |
