Elwell Trailhead (across from Wellington State Park) lot was icy with ice berm at entrance - not sure I'd try without 4WD. |

Fun quick afternoon hike! I was afraid there'd be snowy areas but there weren't. Some spots were muddy, but, no real issues slipping down even the big slabby rocks. Goose Pond still mostly ice-covered (thin ice). Super pretty. Big hail storm blew through while on Little Sugarloaf - hail about 1/4" diam or slightly bigger - got really dark fast, but, didn't last long. |
