With the exception of the top 100 or so vertical feet, these southern-exposure trails are snow/ice free. The snow/ice patches up high on this side were generally flat, so they could be barebooted (I suspect there may be more to deal with if coming up from the Eagle Cliff side). Some muck on the snowmobile trail portion of the Cabin Trail, but otherwise trails were also fairly dry.
Temperatures were in the low 40s, yet there were a few snow flakes flying around. Still a little bit of ice on Squam Lake. Chocorua's ledges looked to be snow-covered. |
