Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Peak Dancer, Hater of Bushwhacks was kind enough to help me drop my car in Keene at the large parking area just north of Ralston and Emerald St and then drive me over to Rt 12 opposite of Fox Run Rd. If looking to break the WMT into shorter segments and do OABs or something instead of car spots, do note that there is plenty of room to park at the start of Fox Run Rd.

Comments: There are occasional WMT markers (blue diamonds with a white outline).

3rd and final SNH redline after the day after redlining Honey Hill and the Keene Connector with my friend. Although just about as far away from being in the wilderness as you can get, I actually found this section of the WMT more pleasant than others. I enjoyed the walk through Keene and along the rail trail through some neighborhoods. It was very flat and dry save for the short and steep bushwhack up from Rt 12 to the Cheshire Rail Trail that I had to do. After the trail crosses the river on the bridge, look diagonally left across Rt 101/Marlboro Rd t Marlboro St. There's a little path there that puts you on the paved road. Follow Marlboro St until Eastern Ave forks right. You follow this for a tenth or two of a mile, then turn left onto the paved rail trail again. This takes you right into Keene. It's usually marked but pay attention closely to the WMT markers. Once you reach School St, turn south on it, then west onto Emerald St, then north onto Island St. DO NOT take a left off of Emerald St and onto Ashuelot Rail Trail. That was our mistake last time but coming from the opposite direction. I stopped on Emerald St where my car was parked. A beautiful walk under a setting sun :) Gaia had me at 4.7mi, 7ft of gain and 209ft of loss, 1hr30min.
