Comments
Comments: This is really a useless report of trail conditions with the upcoming weather, BUT here it is:
Spikes from car to bald peak, very bony, barely avoidable mud along the stream after the logging road.
(Barebooted on the return from the muddy area to the car)

The trail was not broken out beyond bald peak since this appeared to be the destination of the day. We switched to snowshoes, and with additional snow accumulation elevation it was the best option. Five pairs of snow shoes took turns breaking trail to Kinsman Ridge. There was additional foot activity coming from the cannon side and not all good. One person barebooted through a foot of snow all the way to south Kinsman :( and 4 people with snowshoes helped pack the ridge portion.

The snow was very powdery because of the extreme cold, the snowshoes on the steeps didn’t have a lot to bite into, but they were the only choice for the conditions.

Overall a great day. Congrats Sue on Spring#36 and #37.
