Broke trail with another hiker (Axis Andy) to around 3300’ below LS tentsite. At least 4 hikers were trailing & may have summited. As trail gained elevation, new powder + fallen snow from trees into trail created some thigh deep spots. In retrospect, attempting this solo as first tracks was not best recipe for success. Was burned out prior to serious elevation gain sections. 4+ people IMO would have been ideal as my lovely GF showed me w/her crew on other parts of Franco ridge. Regardless, unforgettable day & fun watching skier craziness on cannon & basking in warm spring afternoon sun. |
