Ugh! Today was a beautiful day, but the hiking was exhausting. 19MB was broken and well packed. Carter Dome had only been broken 0.12 (what a tease!). We were lucky to have BikeCampHikeGirl with us today and we took turns breaking trail all the way to South. Snow was knee deep breaking for the most part although there were plenty of places where we were busting through drifts or climbing steep areas that involved lots of backsliding. The snow in the sun got very soft and botting was an additional issue in the afternoon. It was a rough day. We need Carter Dome to finish this month. The hard work of breaking to Zeta Pass is done…please feel free to break out to CD for us. Ha! |
