Snowshoes all the way in a big way. Soft mushy snow but it actually wasn't as torturous as I imagined. But I bet it will be after this coming rain. Only a couple prints before me today; track was pretty soft all the way up, sinking decently at some points with snowshoes on. It was all pretty straightforward but the section before the final summit steep is incredibly soft and incredibly deep and I may have sunk all the way down to Massachusetts at one point. Lots of caution used going down this. Final push to the summit was pretty icy at first then bare rock on the summit. Pretty wild how fast the snow melted. Little bit of rain and sun and northern undercast, a wonderful day really! |
