It was about 20°F high today at altitude, spikes all day, shoes went for a ride. Track was perfect and fast. Hut to Dome has some challenging scrambling on the butt sled track. The last climb to view had some almost stable steps. From Dome to zeta was a little softer, but manageable. First 2+ miles of trail probably don't need shoes, even if it softens up. Not a ton of snow left.
Saw 2 going to cats, 4 going to dome from hut. a solo out and back via Carter Dome,
And 2 coming up Carter Dome around 11. |
