| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The back parking lot was unplowed and a BMW got stuck..probably still there. Many cars parking along the road near the trail head which didn't leave much room for the hatchery trucks. But at the rate the snow is melting there's probably much more room now. |

Whoever broke trail the other day bushwhacked quite a bit (because the trail was not obvious) so the folks without snow shoes were suffering and post holing. A couple I spoke to said they read trail reports that spikes were sufficient--must have been All Trails. By the time I headed back down in early pm, I was sliding in my shoes on the steeper sections but still much easier with them. Probably got torn up pretty bad by the end of the day with all the folks that went in late, and there must have been a couple dozen. Popular spot with the eclipse, but I thought the Stark Country Store was the place to be at 3:30 and so did a few hundred other folks! Beautiful day and eclipse. |
