| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The ski trail pulloff was not plowed but there was room for a couple cars to get one wheel off the pavement. The pulloff above the trailhead was not useable but there is a plowed pulloff on the opposite side 0.3mi above the trailhead. |

| Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Traction |
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
The first minor stream crossing is somewhat difficult because a big tree is down on the other side and the bank is quite steep where you need to go around the tree. The next big crossing requires a small jump on rocks to cross and they were icy in the AM. |

| Comments: |
I used snowshoes the whole day except when coming back down the steep section from East Osceola. For that section I used Hillsound Pros but some people would probably be comfortable in spikes since there are lots of boot imprints that can be used to prevent sliding as long as you are careful with your foot placement to prevent twisting an ankle. There are two spots near the slide where ice is starting to develop but it's not bad yet. I recommend snowshoes for the ridge and everything below the steep section but others had chewed up the trail so there were several area where I preferred making my own snowshoe track to the side of the boot prints esp early in the day when they were all frozen. Rain started just after I got in my car so conditions may be different tomorrow. |
