Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Most crossings on Nineteen mile Brook have bridges, one isn’t and I ended up walking through carefully with my snowshoes still on , winter boots wrapped in OR gaiters. Water was only about ankle deep, my feet stayed dry. Mt boots already were pretty damp from the mushy snow and open water sections of trail.

Comments
Comments: Made a plan with teamlittlefoot to hike the wildcats early this morning before the ski area opened up. We saw them grooming the trails and getting geared up for their “spring fling” weekend. Snowshoes all the way up the ski trails and definitely needed going across the wildcat ridge trail. There is a lot of snow up there! We were walking in the treetops . Rebroke the trail and came across others going in reverse direction. Should be a pretty good track now. Very mushy though and several wipeouts going down steep spots. I said farewell to my crew at the junction to go to the hut, as they were all doing an overnight there and they hope to hike the carters tomorrow. I continued onto 19 mile Brook trail in my snowshoes until I got to Carter dome trail junction and then I switched just to boots. Trail got really rocky and lots of running water on it here. Be prepared for full April conditions if venturing out to the Cats or Carters
