| Comments: |
Started off with spikes but switched over to snowshoes at the Mitzpah cutoff because my spikes were having an unsolicited snowball party. Snowshoes were only sort of helpful because the trail was kinda narrow and had crunchy postholes. Switched back to spikes about 1/4 of the way to Eisenhower - couldn’t navigate around the bare rocks with snowshoes and I didn’t want to die on the little ladders. Conditions were just wet, sticky, and melty - the trees were raining coming down from Pierce. The clouds blew away and it turned into a beautiful bluebird day with incredible views. A little windy but it wasn’t cold. |
