Amazing spring conditions. Next to no mud, and only about .1 or .2 of hardened ice at the top that was thick enough to withstand today’s heavy foot traffic but soft enough to give traction both ascending and descending. While clouds did roll in by our 12:45 pm summit time the peak still offered gorgeous views of the Presi’s, the Belknaps, and the adjacent lakes. Lots of fellow hikers but not so many as to feel crowded. - A great way to recharge the batteries for the week. |
