The lovely Fawn Langerman (BikeCampHikeGirl) joined us on our grid finish. We started around 10:00 and the trail was very solid. Packed trail started pretty close to the road so we donned spikes in the first tenth or so. Drainages were open, but other than that there was a nicely packed trail with monorail starting to set up. At tree line, we removed the spikes as the summit cone was bare rock. We did not loop over to Webster, so I’m unsure of the trail conditions there. Of the hikers on trail, six had spikes and one had snowshoes. Due to the cold conditions, snowshoes weren’t required. Still plenty of snow, though, so be sure to bring them once it warms up. |
