I haven't seen a recent trail report for Madison and Adams so thought I'd add. Bare ground down below changing to patchy ice and snow. I donned spikes when snow and ice became more plentiful. Monorail is very firm underneath softening snow. Above tree line the snow/ice is very patchy and I put on rock spikes. It could be bare-booted by the more sure-footed! The monorail on the upper part of Valley Way is quite narrow, and with the type of spring snow that is slippery and slushy, it was a bit slow to navigate. Snowshoes would not have been helpful. Very decent conditions for April! Blue skies, moderate winds, and happy hikers! |
