Comments
Comments: We headed out from the Beaver Brook Picnic Area, adding 1.3 miles one way to our route. The day was beautiful with lots of sun and warming temps. We wore beater spikes starting at about 3.5 miles in on Gale River Trail and kept them on until the same spot on our return. One member of our party wore her snow shoes coming down Twinway from South Twin for better traction down the steeps. The monorail held up for all, even though the snow softened a bit in the midday sun. There was very little ice and easily avoidable. Overall, spring conditions were surprisingly good.
