| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Much work was done today on Mountain Trail at Pawtuckaway State Park, mostly in the form of removing many messy hemlocks. One large hemlock remains a mile in that is best left for the chainsaw crew; there is a herd path around it. I turned around shortly before the South Ridge Trail junction. Still a few bits to do but the trail is in a lot better shape now. |

| Bugs: |
If only I could teach the black flies how to use a hand saw. A head net was essential today. Many folks passed me stating they wished they had one. A couple people who moved here from North Carolina aborted their hike and turned back due to the bugs. |

| Comments: |
Mountain Trail is pretty arid at the moment except for the usual muddy spots which are kinda always a bit that way.
Lots of folks along the trail enjoying the warm weather. |
