Fine spring conditions today. Firm monorail. I barebooted until about 2800' at which point the spikes went on as this where the steepness of the trail warranted them. Below here, snow was firm and grippy. Sosman trail has some post holing as was reported earlier in the week, but I didn't find it that bad. Snow was supportive enough that I did not bother with snowshoes, so they got a free ride. Descended via ski trails. Soft snow here, especially slower down. Sliding and almost skiing down in my shoes under control. It was a blast. |
