| Comments: |
We wore microspikes after the dry trail ended, quite close to the trailhead. The lower portion of the trail was hard snow and icy in patches, with running water where Spring is doing its thing. The upper portion is hard-packed snow and a delight. The summit rock scramble is dry. On the way down, we took the short side-trail to the Bugle Cliff viewpoint. This is worth doing. You're rewarded with a fine view across the valley, with the Highland Center in the foreground and the Washington Hotel in the distance. |
