| Comments: |
A mix of everything. The trail was wet & muddy from rain overnight. Snow starts at about 2.5mi in. I used rock spikes from that point until I got back to the same point but there is about 1/2mi of snow-free trail on Kilkenny Ridge Trail where it drops down after the junction with Bunnell Notch. There is a monorail at higher elevations and parts of it are narrow and unstable. Any areas with water running under the snow are unstable and may collapse. Some spots still have 2' of snow after the cabin but the trail is too rough & uneven for snowshoes to be of any use. [snowshoes will be needed with the snow softens again]
