Parked at Lafayette Place Campground. Went up Lonesome Lake Trail and Kinsman Ridge Trail. Microspikes went on at 2500, with patches of ice starting around 2200. I was planning on doing Hi-Cannon Trail but I totally missed the turn and didn’t feel like turning around. That .3 going up Kinsman Ridge just before the summit was covered in blue ice. A few spots were a little scary. After summiting I continued north going down the other side of Kinsman Ridge Trail. Parts here were also sketch, again lots of blue ice. Lots of tree hugging getting down [which means Microspikes were not adequate]. Spikes came off about .3 before the Kinsman Ridge Trailhead. Pemi Trail was as lovely as ever! Several blowdowns but as mentioned, I don’t know how new they are. One very big one. |
