| Comments: |
Conditions on the carters were pretty terrible. The lower sections were very wet with alot of running and standing water. I ran into the first signs of the monorail on the carter dome trail. I didnt put on microspikes until reaching zeta pass though. Along the ridge of the carter moriah range there are sections where you could use snowshoes, but then theres also alot of bare patches with exposed rock. So snowshoes wouldnt have been very helpful. It was soft, and any wrong step would result in postholing up past my knee. I gridded out the carters though, so I wont to come this way again. I didnt go up to hight but it didnt look very well traveled. |
