Stony brook didnt really have a monorail established. It was just unstable snow. It was pretty miserable to hike up because i could posthole at any moment no matter where i stepped. I even postholed up to my waist once [bring snowshoes?]. At the intersection of SB and CM there is a deep swamp under the snow to fall into. I had such a bad experience with stony brook that i didnt want to go back down it, so i went down CM and did a road walk. CM was in much better shape. There was a stable monorail where i postholed much less. The best way to do this hike right now is out and back on CM. |
